Task

On September 19th, 2024 Shohei Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs in back-to-back years and the Topps creative team wasted no time getting together this gorgeous set to commemorate the historic feat.

Solution

My goal for the visual identity of this set started with Ohtani himself- and the signature look behind the team he’s lead for the past three years. I decided zoomed in, portrait style photography would act as the focal point of this packaging design, with elements such as the rich Dodgers blue and iconic Dodgers Stadium framing his face to create a scene celebratory enough to match the moment it’s commemorating.
